Is great to continue maintaining Amarok 1.4, because libraries and web services change. I do not believe how programmers threw it and pretend to forget it existence. I agree that v2 is so different that it were been better, have begun it with other name, and by the way, it were today at 0.9 version, because it is very faulty.
